Our Services

What We Do

CSIRO (Community for Social Integration Recreational Activities of Ottawa) is a non-profit organization incorporated in Ontario, Canada since June 18, 2003. Since its creation, the organization has been assisting youth, new comers and the general public in the National Capital Region by providing the following programs and services:
  • Employment services, information and orientation, translation, counseling, referral, conversation circle and administrative services support. Our experienced bilingual staff dedicates their attention to each individual applicant according to their specific needs and career inspirations;
  • Developing computer skills and creating an electronic database with information on different structures and organizations working in the field of youth work in Canada, and to build links to existing information on the national / provincial / local level to facilitate networking and employment objectives;
  • Providing settlement programs and services such as; career development in which the organization assists youth and new comers in areas related to resume writing, interview techniques, obtaining and maintaining their ideal job, enhancing their marketability etc.
  • Language training, newcomers whose first language is neither English nor French receives basic language training.
  • Culture and Orientation, this program aims at preparing new comers for a successful integration in Canadian society by exploring cultural similarities so as to provide a role and identity to move forward.
  • CSIRO outreach and communication program involves meeting new comers at port of entry and provide essential information on program and services offered by csiro as well as government and private sector entities in the greater Ottawa region; and
  • Assisting and encouraging young people in community life and providing opportunity for youth to work together to gain lifelong skill.

Coding for Youth & Computer Literacy

Whether you are a beginner or a computer geek, taking on a project can provide valuable experience, it allows you to explore new technologies and showcase your abilities to potential employers or clients. They push you to learn essential skills and determine how to put your theoretical knowledge into code. Building simple apps will test your ability to remember what you’ve already learned and teach you how to structure coding projects, deploy code, and fix bugs in live apps. In this program, you’ll learn more about the types of computers and operating systems in use today. You’ll also gain a better understanding of the basic parts of a computer, how applications are used, connecting to the Internet, and more.
